綿綿葛藟，在河之滸。
終遠兄弟，謂他人父。
謂他人父，亦莫我顧！
綿綿葛藟，在河之涘。
終遠兄弟，謂他人母。
謂他人母，亦莫我有！
綿綿葛藟，在河之漘。
終遠兄弟，謂他人昆。
謂他人昆，亦莫我聞。
野葡萄
綿綿野葡萄，生在河水邊。
遠離了家園，叫異姓人為「父親」。
雖然叫父親，也得不到父子的溫馨。
綿綿野葡萄，生在河水湄。
遠離了家室，叫異姓人為「母親」。
雖然叫母親，也得不到母子的憐惜。
綿綿野葡萄，生在河水旁。
遠離了家鄉，叫異姓人為「兄長」。
雖然叫兄長，也得不到兄長的呵護。

I left home long ago,
Calling a stranger "Father."
Even though I called him "Father,"
No affection I invited was e’er requited.
On the river bank, wild grapes grow.
I left home long ago,
Calling a stranger "Mother."
Even though I called her "Mother,"
No love I gave was e'er repaid.
On the river front, wild grapes bloom.
I left home long ago,
Calling a stranger "Brother."
Even though I called him "Brother,"
No warmth I craved he e'er gave.
