Cricket
Translated by Fu-Shiang Chia

When the cricket moves into the house,
Year's end is drawing near.
If you don't enjoy life today,
Time evaporates without a trace.
But don't live life to excess.
Think also of your responsibilities.
Enjoy, but don't be idle.
Remember the golden adages.

When the cricket moves into the house,
Year's end is drawing near.
If you don't enjoy life today,
Days, months will not return.
But don't live life to excess.
Think also of your patriotic duty.
Enjoy, but don't be idle.
Remember the golden rules.

When the cricket moves into the house,
Horses and wagons are at rest.
If you don't enjoy life today,
Days, months will fly by.
But don't live life to excess.
Think also of your duty to others.
Enjoy, but don't be idle.
A good person maintains a balance.
