奈及利亞高等法院11日裁定，奈及利亞殼牌石油開發有限公司必須在2007年4月以前，停止在三角洲州Iwherekan社區的沼氣燃燒作業。法院並命令殼牌石油奈及利亞區總經理及奈及利亞石油資源部長於5月31日貝南市開庭當天，親自到庭遞交在上述日期前需終止沼氣燃燒作業之詳細計劃。
Nigerian Court Gives Shell One Year to Stop Gas Flaring
The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited must stop flaring gas in the Iwherekan community in Delta State by April 2007, the Nigerian High Court ruled to day. The court has ordered Shell’s managing director in Nigeria and Nigerian Minister for Petroleum Resources to appear in person before the judge in open court on May 31 in Benin City with detailed plans for putting gas flares out by that date.
