美國，04-24-2000 - 學生環境行動者再度把焦點轉向企業界，試圖以引導或羞辱的方式，來改變這些企業從地球獲利的行為。上個月，耶魯大學的學生葛林霍洛維茲(Glenn Hurowitz)在BP愛莫可(BP Amoco)紐約辦公室發起一次抗議活動，並遞交了一疊商學院與工學院學生的履歷表，這些學生誓言若這家公司不放棄它在阿拉斯加北極的國家野生動物保護區(Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge)的石油探勘計畫，他們就不會為這家公司工作。部份的抗議者是生態誓約(Ecopledge)促進會的成員，他們要求學生們拒絕為缺乏環境責任感的公司工作。環保人士也提出越來越多以透過企業股東方式的解決方案，試圖強迫企業界正視環境議題。

BUSINESS AS UNUSUAL
Student environmental activists are turning their attention anew to corporations, trying to cajole or shame them into changing their practices for the benefit of the planet. Last month, Yale student Glenn Hurowitz staged a demonstration at BP Amoco's New York offices and delivered a stack of resumes from business and engineering students who had pledged not to work for the company until it promises not to drill for oil in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Some such protests are part of an Ecopledge campaign, which is asking students to refuse to take jobs with companies considered to be environmentally irresponsible. Enviros are also introducing an increasing number of shareholder resolutions to try to force corporations to address environmental
issues.
