肯亞，奈洛比／法國，巴黎，2001-12-18 (UNEP)-聯合國環境規劃署今天開始進行一項首開先例的計畫，勘測13個發展中國家的太陽能與風能資源。專家認為這項「太陽能與風能調查評估」（SWERA）計畫將會證實，在這些國家中設置太陽能電池板與風力發電機，其發展潛力遠大於目前的想像。

Nairobi/Paris, 18 December 2001 - A pioneering project to map the solar and wind resource of 13 developing countries is launched today by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).Experts are convinced that the project, called the Solar and Wind Energy Survey Assessment (SWERA), will prove that the potential for deploying solar panels and wind turbines in these countries is far greater than is currently supposed.
