為保育阿富汗境內的生物多樣性，阿國政府、美國官方和一個紐約的野生動物保育團體合作，於28日簽署一項共同計畫，成立阿富汗第一個官方保護區。其中受到保護的稀有動物有行踪難以捉摸的雪豹，以及世界上最大型的羊。

The elusive snow leopard and the world's largest sheep are among rare species that will be sheltered in Afghanistan's first official system of protected areas. The biodiversity conservation initiative launched Wednesday is a joint project of the Afghan and U.S. governments and the New York based Wildlife Conservation Society.
