美國國會議員29日通過了一項法案，未來25年將禁止大部份美國東、西岸及墨西哥灣東方沿海的石油和天然氣探鑽活動。這項法案是以232比187的票數通過；然受到爭議的是，這也使得國庫短少了數十億美元由這些商業行為提供的歲收。
U.S. House Votes to Lift Offshore Oil Drilling Ban
The U.S. House of Representatives approved legislation Thursday that lifts a 25 year ban on oil and natural gas drilling off most of the Pacific and Atlantic coasts and the eastern part of the Gulf of Mexico. The legislation, which passed by a vote of 232-187, controversially offers states billions of dollars in federal revenues if they allow drilling off their coasts.
