Bush Proposes to Sell OFF $1Billion Worth of Public Lands
President George W. Bush's proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2007 includes proposals to sell nearly $1billion worth of public lands to raise money for the federal treasury. If these budget provisions are approved by Congress, the U.S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management will for the first time have mandatory sales targets to meet.
