美國2006颶風季首號命名之暴風13日挾帶強風驟雨橫刮佛羅里達州後，目前以時速約70英里之速度朝卡羅萊納州前進。輕度颶風艾伯特吹襲天柏與其他墨西哥灣海岸地區，壓倒高壓電纜、淹沒聯外道路與財產，不過許多民眾直呼所幸颶風未帶來太過嚴重之損失。
First Named Storm of 2006 Could Have Been Worse
Remnants of the first named storm of the 2006 hurricane season are moving over the Carolinas after blowing through Florida at about 70 miles per hour Tuesday. Tropical Storm Alberto downed power lines and flooded roads and properties in Tampa and other places along the Gulf Coast, but many people were relieved that the damage was not worse.
