本月在曼哈頓賈維茲中心舉行的紐約國際車展上，配備鷗翼的時尚設計款油電混合車BMWi8，在開幕式正式宣布獲選為2015年世界綠能車冠軍。
氣電混和設計「太酷」 評審：盼激發時尚綠潮流
專家評析獲選原因，認為BMWi8氣電混和設計太酷，應該成為所有綠能車的標竿，激發時尚綠潮流。BMWi8只需三個圓柱渦輪汽油引擎就可加速至每小時155英呎，加上四輪驅動和配備4座位。
專家極度興奮地評論：「BMW為理性生活方式增添許許多多愉悅享受氛圍，所以獲選最佳綠能車當之無愧。」
鑑於一些高階自動化科技的複雜度，世界汽車獎督導委員會（World Car Awards Steering Committee）每年指定5位綠能專家，仔細檢視每一位參選者的所有文件及設計資料。
2月份，75位世界汽車大賽組成的評審團，根據專家們對各車款的評估意見來投票，而票數由國際會計師事務所KPMG製表統計。
BMW從全世界10部新車初選名單中脫穎而出。最後揭曉的決選名單，前三名包括冠軍得主BMWi8和另兩車款Mercedes-Benz S 500 Plug-In Hybrid 與 the Volkswagen Golf GTE。
蟬聯綠能車冠軍 BMW：電動車是未來趨勢
這是第二次BMW團隊贏得世界綠能車頭銜，去年得主為BMWi3。
BMW i Model Line執行長Ulrich Kranz表示：「我們深感榮幸，BMWi8獲得世界綠能車冠軍的殊榮，加上2014年BMWi3也獲獎，都證明當談到電動車輛，我們以目標為導向策略是對的。一開始就鎖定電動的設計，而非轉換發電，是未來的車業趨勢。」
在4月2日紐約賈維茲展覽中心國際車展公布得主的記者會前夕，Prime Research和熱能調節系統公司Autoneum正好共同公布全球趨勢報告（The Global Trends Report）。
汽車音響公司執行長Martin Hirzel和Autoneum都指出：「智慧效能在現今汽車工業製造中是一大趨勢。」
The sleek BMW i8 with the gull-wing doors, a gasoline-electric hybrid, has been declared winner of the 2015 World Green Car of the Year.
The announcement was made at the opening of the New York International Auto Show at Javits Center in New York City.
Due to the complexity of some of the advanced automotive technologies, five “green experts” are appointed annually by the World Car Awards Steering Committee to extensively review all documentation and specs associated with each candidate.
The 75 World Car Awards jurors then voted on the experts’ recommendations in February; their ballots were tabulated by the international accounting firm KPMG.
The experts elaborated on the reasons for their selection, saying, “The BMW i8 gasoline hybrid looks so cool, it should be the icon for all green cars. So it inspires Green Passion, which on paper looks like 155 mph on the i8’s three cylinder turbo gasoline engine, four-wheel-drive and four seats.”

Commenting on the BMW i8, the experts enthused, “The i8 adds so much enjoyment to a sensible lifestyle that it needs to be recognized as a great Green Car.”
The BMW i8 was chosen from an initial entry list of 10 new vehicles from all over the world.
A short list of three finalists that included the winner was rounded out by the Mercedes-Benz S 500 Plug-In Hybrid and the Volkswagen Golf GTE.
This is the second year in a row that the BMW Group has won the World Green Car title. The BMW i3 took it home last year.
Said Ulrich Kranz, director of the BMW i Model Line, “We feel extremely honored, receiving this prestigious World Green Car award for the BMW i8. Together with the 2014 World Green Car Award for the BMW i3 it just confirms the rightfulness of our purpose-built strategy when it comes to electric cars. Born electric instead of conversion is the way to go.”
Previous World Green Car winners were the BMW i3 (2014), the Tesla Model S (2013), the Mercedes-Benz S 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY (2012), the Chevrolet Volt (2011), the Volkswagen BlueMotion (2010), the Honda FCX Clarity (2009), the BMW 118d with Efficient Dynamics (2008), the Mercedes-Benz E320 Bluetec (2007) and the Honda Civic Hybrid (2006)
The Global Trends Report, co-presented by Prime Research and Autoneum just before the winners’ press conference on April 2 at the New York International Auto Show at Javits Center in New York.
Martin Hirzel CEO of the vehicle acoustics and thermal management systems company Autoneum, said, “Smart efficiency is the most important trend in the automobile industry.”
