由野生動物保育協會（WCS）生物學家所領軍的一支國際研究小組，日前順利捕獲一隻現今嚴重面臨瀕絕的遠東豹，其野生剩餘數量僅存30隻。科學家設置安全陷阱捕捉這類大貓，並且進行基因分析以建構日後保育行動基礎。
First Far Eastern Leopard Captured, Released in Russia
An international team led by biologists from the Wildlife Conservation Society has captured one of the world’s most endangered big cats – a Far Eastern leopard, one of only 30 left in the wild. It was caught in a snare set by scientists to capture big cats for genetic analysis on which conservation efforts can be based.
