Ice Core Analysis Adds to Climate Concern
Ice core records from Antarctica show the current levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are higher now than at any time in the past 800,000 years and increasing at an unprecedented rate. The analysis, announced Monday by researchers with the British Antarctic Survey (BAS), is further evidence that humans are adding large amounts of the heat-trapping gas to the planet's atmosphere and causing significant changes to the climate.
