1月24日夜間一艘拖船與一滿載煤的散裝貨輪相擦撞，導致油槽破裂，逾25噸重燃油在世界遺產大堡礁沿岸意外外漏。負責清除油污工作的官員25日指出，此次油污染範圍可謂澳洲昆士蘭地區三十多年來之最。
Oil Spill in Great Barrier Reef Port Worst in 30 Years
More than 25 metric tons of heavy fuel oil spilled into waters on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area last night after a tug boat collided with a bulk coal carrier, slicing open its fuel tank. The official in charge of cleanup said today the spill could be Queensland’s largest in more than 30 years.
