講者介紹

勒杉教授 Dr. Yossi Leshem

Director of the International Center for the Study of Bird Migration at Latrun Israel

      勒杉教授是享譽國際的候鳥研究專家，是以色列最知名動物學家之一，目前任職台拉維夫大學生命科學院動物學系，並且是Latrum國際候鳥研究中心（International Center for the Study of Bird Migration in Latrum ）創辦人及主任。

      他早自1971年即投入「以色列自然保育協會」(Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, SPNI)工作，曾於1991-95年間擔任該協會執行長及會長，該協會是以色列最大的環保團體，有會員6萬人。

      勒杉教授參與自然生態保護，特別是候鳥遷徙專題，已鑽研40餘年。渠自1971年獲博士學位以來，與以國空軍合作，將鳥群撞擊飛行器事件減少76%，節省8億美元，拯救生命無數。渠在以色列、巴勒斯坦及約旦等350個學校，推廣鳥類遷徙研究，近更推廣網路教育，名為「遷徙鳥群無疆界」（Migrating Birds Know No Boundaries）。此外，渠更創新在該地區運用貓頭鷹來控制野鼠蔓延，成績斐然。

      勒杉教授已出版專書三冊，並在科學期刊及當代雜誌上撰寫數百篇專文及文章，推廣環保教育，蜚聲國際。
