美國聯邦法院已宣告布希政府之決議為非法，其欲移除對成熟森林及棲息其中的稀有動、植物種之保護，使得環保團體獲傳勝訴。美國地方法院法官帕芝蔓（Marsha Pechman）9日裁決此案，駁回美國政府剔除西北森林計劃的「勘測與管理」（Survey and manage）標準之決議。
Federal Judge Vacates Bush Bid to Undercut Northwest Forest Plan
In a victory for environmental groups, a federal court has declared illegal a Bush administration’s decision to eliminated safeguard for old growth forests and the rare plants and animals that inhabit them. The ruling handed down late Monday by U.S. District Court Judge Marsha Pechman vacates the administration’s decision to eliminated the “Survey and Manage” standard of the Northwest Forest Plan.
