厭浥行露。豈不夙夜，謂行多露。
誰謂雀無角，何以穿我屋？誰謂女無家，
何以速我獄？雖速我獄，室家不足！
誰謂鼠無牙，何以穿我墉？誰謂女無家，
何以速我訟？雖速我訟，亦不女從！
露水
露水濃重。早起去官府，那怕濕了衣服。
誰說雀兒沒有角，怎會穿破我房屋？誰說我嫁不出，
急著要置我入獄？就是逼著我入獄，娶我理由仍不足。
誰說老鼠沒有牙，怎會穿過我窗戶？誰說我嫁不出，
急著逼我去官府？就是官府去訴訟，我是仍然不依從。
Evening Dew
The evening's dew weighs low.
I'm eager to leave for court,
Having no fear I'll soak my clothes.
Who said a bird has no beak? How else can it peck through my wall?
Who said I can't find a husband, without forcing me to court?
Even if I go to court, I shall never concede.
Who said a rat has no teeth? How else can it gnaw through my wall?
Who said I can't find a husband, without threatening me with jail?
But even if I'm sent to jail, I shall never marry you.
