根據聯合國與阿富汗政府於23日所發表的共同聲明，阿富汗乾旱的情況持續惡化，已不止190萬的人民需要食物的援助，較早前7月時預估的要更多上20萬人，因此他們呼籲外界捐助更多的人道援助基金，目前所需金額至少要4330萬美元。
Afghan Drought Puts Pressure on Food Supply
Worsening drought in Afghanistan means 1.9 million people will need food assistance ?200,000 more than predicted in July - according to the United Nations and Afghan government, which launched a joint appeal for a further $43.3 million in humanitarian relief today.
