美國伊利諾州州長勃戈亞維其（Rod Blagojevich）3日與伊州第二大電力公司亞美倫（Ameren），達成減少廢氣排放的協議。勃戈亞維承諾，將打造伊州成為全國清淨空氣的領導者；而亞美倫公司則同意減少火力發電廠三項最有害的氣體排放，其中包括了汞蒸氣、二氧化硫與氮氧化物的有毒氣體。
Ameren to Slash Emissions at Illinois Coal-Burning Power Plants
Governor Rod Blagojevich Wednesday announced an emissions reduction agreement with Illinois’ second largest utility, Ameren, that the governor said will establish Illinois as a national clean air leader. Ameren has agreed to curb emissions of the three most harmful power plant emissions - mercury, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides.
