根據一項新出爐的氣候研究調查顯示，強烈颶風的成因在於海水溫度的上升，而海水溫度上升主因是人類溫室氣體的排放。研究並且發現，人為溫室氣體的排放造成大西洋以及太平洋地區溫度上升的比率約三分之二，而此區域同時是颶風的發源地。
Study Strengthens Link Between Global Warming, Fiercer Storms
Stronger hurricanes are the result of warmer sea temperatures largely caused by human emissions of greenhouse gases, according to new climate research. The study found manmade greenhouse gas emissions are responsible for more than two-thirds of the temperature increases in areas of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans where hurricanes typically form.
