由於不滿上訴法院裁定美國環保署不須強制規定溫室氣體為污染源的判決結果，由美國12州、3個城市、薩摩亞政府，以及數個環保團體所組成的聯盟，3日向美國最高法院請願，要求復審此案。2005年所做出的裁決結果，讓環保署得以拒絕制定法規來管理汽車的溫室氣體排放量，而此聯盟請願的目的，是希望能對此案件做一步的檢討。
States Ask Supreme Court Review of Global Warming Car Emissions Case
A coalition of 12 states, three major cities, one island government and several environmental groups Friday petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to review a lower court ruling that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency does not have to regulate greenhouse gases as pollutants. The coalition wants review of a 2005 ruling that let stand the EPA's refusal to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles.
