美國與歐洲聯盟雙方同意應「堅決並迫切地減少溫室氣體排放」，兩地政府因此再生新關係。21日於奧地利霍夫堡皇宮舉行之雙邊年度高峰會中，美國總統布希協歐盟執委會主席巴羅索達成共識，為歐盟－美國於氣候變遷、潔淨能源與永續發展等議題上開啟峰層對話。
U.S., European Leaders Initiate Dialogue to Avert Climate Change
The United States and the European Union have agreed to "act with resolve and urgency to reduce greenhouse gas emissions," a new relationship for the two governments. At their annual Summit meeting, held today at Hofburg Palace in Vienna, President George W. Bush and EU President Manual Barroso agreed to establish a new EU-U.S. High Level Dialogue on Climate Change, Clean Energy and Sustainable Development.
