疲倦不堪的美國消防員25日表示，加州洛斯帕德斯國家公園在勞動節當天發生森林大火後，至今仍只有41%的面積受到控制，逾200平方英里的森林遭到燒毀。受到風勢減弱的影響，一架747噴射客機終於能夠在聖波拉北方延燒3個星期之久的森林噴灑阻燃劑，但什麼時候能完全控制火勢則還是未知數。
California Wildfire Consumes 200 Square Miles in National Forest
The fire that was started in the Los Padres National Forest on Labor Day is still only 41 percent contained, and has charred 200 square miles, weary fire officials said today. Due to calmer winds, a jumbo jetliner was able to drop tens of thousands of gallons of fire retardant on the three week old fire north of Santa Paula. There is no projected date of containment.
