美國太空總署指出，格陵蘭沿海低地冰層的融冰速率遠高於新增冰層，預估每年流失的冰相當於美國科羅拉多河6年的水量。然在這次研究中發現，其融冰速率並沒有像其他研究所發現的那麼快速。
Greenland Ice Sheet Rapidly Melting
Ice losses now far surpass ice gains in the shrinking Greenland ice sheet, NASA scientists reported Thursday. The researchers estimate the annual net loss from the ice sheet equals six years of water flow from the Colorado River, but found the ice sheet may not be melting quite as quickly as other studies have found.
