巴基斯坦山地森林經長年砍伐，其土石早已鬆軟，而在今年十月八日強烈地震猛烈搖晃下，境內已接連發生多起山崩事件。山崩造成嚴重塵害，使得在穆札法拉巴德部分地區內僅有5公尺的能見度。
Earthquake Touched Off Deadly Slides in Kashmir’s Deforested Hills
Continuous landslides in the Muzaffarabad district are raising levels of dust pollution, and have limited the visibility to five meters (16 feet) in some areas. The sever October 8 earthquake rattled these mountains, where slopes were already destabilized by years of deforestation.
