美國國家科學院在18日出版的刊物中發表一篇研究報告，撰稿的加州大學洛杉磯分校大氣科學家指出，到21世紀中期，全球暖化效應將讓部分加勒比海和中美洲地區的夏季變得更乾燥。雖然該地區已經遭逢嚴重乾旱問題，但到了21世紀末，該地區的夏季降雨量將再減少20%以上。
Global Warming Means Drier Summers for Caribbean, Central America
Global warming will bring a summer drying trend to parts of the Caribbean and Central America by the middle of this century, UCLA atmospheric scientists will report in the April 18 issue of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Already struggling with drought, by the end of this century the region will experience a decrease in summer rainfall of 20 percent or more.
