Japan Lifts U.S. Beef Import Ban Imposed Against Mad Cow Disease
The government of Japan announced Thursday that it will resume imports of U.S. beef from cattle 20 months and younger. The decision comes after trade of U.S. beef with Japan was suspended in December 2003 following the discovery of the first case of mad cow disease in the United States.
