2007年大西洋颶風季於30日正式結束，「美國國家海洋暨大氣管理局」（NOAA）之下的「國家氣象局」（National Weather Service）目前正回顧檢視這一年來的氣候型態，發現在大西洋海灣地區可能產生颶風活動的氣候型態比預期中少。
2個緊接而來的5級颶風連續襲擊中美洲，同時也加強了美國近岸唯一登陸颶風的威力——9 月的溫伯特颶風（Hurricane Humberto），溫伯特颶風成為2007年大西洋颶風季的焦點，造成1人死亡，總損失估計約高達5000萬美元。
美國國家海洋暨大氣管理局氣候預報中心的季節性颶風預報專家貝爾（Gerry Bell）表示，2007年大西洋颶風季原本預計可能會成形的暴風數量，其最後的暴風總數、持續力以及強度都不如原本的預期。整體看來，2007年大西洋颶風季總計有14個暴風形成，包括6個颶風，其中有2個轉為強烈颶風。
As the 2007 Atlantic hurricane season officially comes to a close today, scientists with NOAA's National Weather Service are reviewing a set of weather patterns that yielded hurricane activity across the Atlantic Basin that was lower than expected.
Two back-to-back Category 5 hurricanes hit Central America and the rapid near-shore intensification of the single U.S. landfalling hurricane - Hurricane Humberto in September - marked the 2007 Atlantic hurricane season. One death has been attributed to Humberto, while total damages are estimated to be near $50 million dollars.
"The 2007 Atlantic hurricane season produced the predicted number of named storms, but the combined number, duration and intensity of the hurricanes did not meet expectations," said Gerry Bell, Ph.D., lead seasonal hurricane forecaster at NOAA Climate Prediction Center.
As a whole, the 2007 Atlantic hurricane season produced a total of 14 named storms, including six hurricanes, two of which became major hurricanes.
