為了拯救地球上的生命，幾個世界頂尖的生物多樣性研究中心和機構，27日晚間在巴西庫里奇巴與聯合國生物多樣性公約秘書處共同簽署了一份新的合作協議──該市正是每兩年召開一次生物多樣性公約會議之地。根據新協議，這些研究機構將運用他們的專業和技術協助開發中國家，在2010年之前達成確實減少生物多樣性消失率的目標。
Research Centers, UN Agencies Partner to Save Species by 2010
To save life on Earth, some of the world's top research centers and agencies specializing in biodiversity have signed on to a new alliance of cooperation with the UN Convention on Biological Diversity. Under the agreement, signed last night in Curitiba, where the CBD is holding its biannual meeting, the institutes will use their expertise and skills to help developing countries substantially reduce the rate of loss of biodiversity by the target date of 2010.
