加拿大的格里夸灣流域15年來在環保團體的爭取下，迄今仍為一塊未受開發的原生地；然而英屬哥倫比亞政府與格里夸灣第一民族卻通過砍伐計劃，使得過去努力付之一炬。聯合國科教文組織於溫哥華島上八個流域設有生物圈保留區，而格里夸灣中區局1日宣布，第一民族與省政府已同意開放其中五處供伐木活動。
Logging Planned for Hard-Won Vancouver Island Biosphere Reserve
The British Columbia government and Clayoquot Sound First Nations have decided to allow logging in untouched Clayoquot Sound watersheds that environmental groups fought for more than 15 years to protect. The Clayoquot Sound Central Region Board announced Thursday that the five central region First Nation and the province have agreed to log in eight Vancouver Island watersheds that are part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.相關文章
