國際捕鯨委員會（IWC）於聖啟斯舉行之年度會議20日進入尾聲，由日本領導的贊同捕鯨陣營，近20年來首次居於主導地位。同時，10位來自7個不同國家的綠色和平組織反捕鯨抗議人士，於20日遭警方逮捕。他們在行動中打算設立一個象徵性的「鯨魚墓園」，抗議日本在南極海鯨魚保護區之捕鯨行動。
Greenpeace Whaling Protest Disrupted in St. Kitts, Ten Arrested
Ten Greenpeace anti-whaling activists from seven countries were arrested by police at Frigate Bay today as they attempted to create a symbolic "whale graveyard" to protest Japanese whaling in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. The demonstration came as the International Whaling Commission wound up its annual meeting in St. Kitts that has seen the Japanese led pro-whaling group of countries nearly dominate the proceedings for the first time in two decades.
