美國聯邦法官20日恢復過去柯林頓政府時期之立法規制，嚴禁於國家森林三分之一的土地上進行道路工程、伐木與採礦等活動，然而布希政府日前以新法顛覆，迫使地方隨即要求聯邦政府對無道路地區加以保護。美國地方法官拉波特（Elizabeth Laporte）於一份55頁的裁定書內容中指出，關於以新規定來取代無道路法規一事，林務局有失妥當評估對環境可能產生的衝擊。
Judge Axes Bush Reversal of Roadless Rule
A federal judge today reinstated a Clinton-era ban on road construction, logging and mining in one-third of U.S. national forest, reversing a Bush administration regulation that forced states to petition the federal government for protection of roadless areas. The Forest Service failed to adequately consider the environmental impacts of replacing the roadless rule with the regulation, U.S. District Judge Elizabeth Laporte wrote in a 55-page ruling.
