美國眾議院17日通過鬆綁環境法規的立法案，此法案是為了方便有關部門加速作業，以便在遭受極端氣候（如森林大火、颶風及冰風暴）重創之公有地上，進行林木砍伐與重新造林的工作。然有人則批評這項法案沒有必要，且將有可能損及環境保護並圖利於木材公司。
U.S. House of Representatives Moves to Accelerate Salvage Logging
The House passed legislation Wednesday that relaxes environmental laws in order to accelerate logging and replanting of public lands impacted by severe weather events, including wildfires, hurricanes and ice storms. Critics say the bill is unnecessary and undermines environmental protections in a bid to aid timber companies.
